CHICAGO ACTING COMMUNITY UNITES IN DRIVE FOR 800+ FAMILIES

CHICAGO, IL - “EXTRA HANDS of HOPE”, a group of Chicago actors and extras, announce their First Annual Christmas/Holiday Toy, Book and Winter Clothing drive that will serve over 800 families in the Englewood, Lawndale and Logan Square Communities. The drive will run from Nov.17th through Dec. 17th. Donation locations are indoors at small business locations or community centers. Details are at Urban7.org.

Spearheading the collection and distribution effort are Keith Vosler of Urban Youth Outreach (www.Urban7.org), Lawndale Church community leader Wayne “Coach” Gordon and Inner City Impact Founder Bill Dillon. With help from the Extra Hands of Hope team, 20 drop box locations have been set up throughout the city and suburbs to collect new and gently used items.

“Extra Hands of Hope” was created by actors James Petrean and Tommy Connolly as a way to draw together Chicago’s vast and diverse acting community in an effort to help those less fortunate. Casting agencies Claire Simon, O’Connor Casting and Paskal-Rudnicke Casting have set up drop boxes at their downtown locations and are encouraging actors to bring in donations when they come to audition. Several Chicago extras casting agencies (Atmosphere Casting/Girls Gone Casting, Extraordinary Casting and Joan Philo Casting) have also been involved in the effort.

Connolly says, “The coming together of all of Chicago’s principal casting and extras casting agencies to help brighten the holiday for 800 families has been amazing! The Chicago acting family is part of the biggest village in the country.”

Visit Urban7.org , Chicago Actors & Extras on Facebook or Atmosphere Casting for EHH donation locations. Donation locations are indoors at small business locations or community centers.
